Nicholas L. Bruce, LL.M.

Nicholas L. Bruce (Nick) has practiced law since 2008 in both Georgia* and Florida. While in law school, he believed his career would exist largely in the courtroom, and spent his summers and his final year of law school working for local prosecutors and criminal defense firms. After law school, he continued practicing litigation, both criminal and civil. After handling numerous cases involving shareholder disputes and estate litigation, he came to recognize the value that litigators bring to the world in helping resolve disputes that could not be resolved any other way. However, he felt that his talents were better served outside the courtroom helping families and business owners plan for disputes so they could be cost effectively resolved when they came up. The old saying “an ounce of prevention is worth a pound of cure” came to embody his approach to these situations. When creating an estate plan, very few families think there were will be a divorce, or a family fight, or some other breakdown in the family dynamic or communication. But by planning for the worst even if “hoping for the best”, he helps clients to hopefully not be blindsided due to some future change in circumstances. Since coming to this realization, he has focused his career outside the courtroom and around the living room and boardroom ever since.

Over the years, Nick has received numerous awards and accolades, including being board certified by the Florida Board of Legal Specialization in 2016. He has been named AV® by Martindale Hubbel, the highest rating from the oldest and arguably most respected attorney rating agency for his technical excellence and high ethical standards. He has been asked to speak at numerous seminars on a variety of estate planning, tax mitigation, and probate matters to attorneys and paralegals as a part of their continuing education requirements.

Outside of his professional endeavors, Nick enjoys spending time with his wife Christina and their two kids – Carlisle and Samuel. If he finds time for himself, he also enjoys a variety of hobbies, including playing bad golf, reading and cooking.
As of 2012, Nick is inactive and not authorized to practice in the state of Georgia.
